GREENEVILLE, TN – April 2, 2007 – The Greene County Partnership announced today at a press conference that Foliot Furniture, based in Saint Jerome, Quebec, Canada, has made the commitment to locate a new manufacturing facility in Greeneville.

Foliot Furniture expects to begin operations within 30 days in eastern Greeneville. Although initial plans call for 75,000 square feet of the 126,000 square foot building to be used in the startup, the company expects to make use of the entire building as production increases over the next few years. Their local production will be institutional furniture for hotels, motels and colleges.

According to Daniel Foliot, company president, the location of the plant to Greeneville will result in a capital investment of $1.5 to $2 million and create 50 jobs at startup, increasing to 100 jobs within two years.

Foliot Furniture, which operates out of a 240,000 square foot facility in Canada, develops and produces its furniture using state-of-the-art numerically-controlled machinery. The Foliot Furniture team is comprised of wood working machinery experts, skilled furniture craftsmen and interior designers. The company states that, with a fully automated production lines, they are able to manufacture every product with extreme precision, resulting in perfectly assembled and consistently identical furniture. They set extremely high standards and, consequently, the quality of their products exceeds the industry’s norms.
