Borla Performance Industries to Locate New Facility in Johnson City, Tennessee

Company To Create Up To 200 New Jobs

Johnson City, TN—(September 11, 2007)—Borla Performance Industries today announced that it will locate a manufacturing facility in Johnson City, Tennessee and purchase the 325,000 square foot EPIC Technologies facility. Current plans are for EPIC to lease back a portion of the building from Borla Performance.

Based in Oxnard, California, Borla Performance Industries is the leader in the manufacture of stainless steel performance exhaust. The company began two decades ago as a manufacturer of exhaust systems for such "concours classics" as Rolls-Royce and Ferrari cars and have evolved into the premier manufacturer of today’s performance vehicles for the street, off-road, and racing. The company's "Million Mile Warranty" is based on its high-tech processes and use of high quality, authentic steel.

Company CEO, Alex Borla said Johnson City was selected after a lengthy search for a suitable location to expand the company's operations. The quality of life and available work force were cited as two key considerations in the selection process. The presence of the Bristol Motor Speedway located 10 miles north of Johnson City is another plus for the Tennessee location.

Borla produced about 100,000 exhaust systems in 2006 and employs approximately 200 workers at its facilities in California and Michigan. Both will close and consolidate all operations in Johnson City. A "Job Fair" was held via coordination between the Johnson City Economic Development Board and the Tennessee Career Center that validated both the availability and quality of the labor supply.
