Rogers Foam Corporation Announces Location of Facility in Scott County, Virginia


July 11, 2007 DUFFIELD, VIRGINIA - Rogers Foam announces that it will locate a manufacturing facility in the Duffield Regional Industrial Park.

The $1.4 million project will create 50 jobs in the Midpaco building in Duffield.

Headquartered in Somerville, Massachusetts, Rogers Foam has been fabricating engineered foam products for custom applications for more than 60 years. Industries served include automotive, high-tech, medical, consumer products, transportation, sports and leisure, and military. The company employs more than 500 people at facilities in the U.S., Mexico and Asia.

“Fifty new jobs for Southwest Virginia is certainly a great win for the region,” said Governor Kaine. “The proximity to one of the Rogers Foam Corporation’s major customers, as well as the trained workforce in the area, brought this impressive global company to Virginia.”

Rogers, PhD, Owner/Director, Rogers Foam Corporation. “Virginia’s favorable business climate, strategic location, skilled workforce, and proximity to major customers were all important in our decision to invest in a new plant in Duffield. We look forward to a beneficial partnership with Scott County and the State of Virginia as we expand our operations to better serve existing customers and support our future growth.”

The Scott County Economic Development Authority worked with the Virginia Economic Development Partnership and the Virginia Coalfield Economic Development Authority to secure the project for Virginia. The Virginia Tobacco Indemnification and Community Revitalization Commission approved $100,000 in Tobacco Region Opportunity Funds. The LENOWISCO Planning District Commission, the Duffield Development Authority, and the Tennessee Valley Authority also provided assistance. The Virginia Department of Business Assistance will support the project with training assistance through its Workforce Services Jobs Investment Program.
